Read the German Indymedia report, written in German. View more photos here.
Below are photos from the 500 person strong Hamburg, Germany demonstration on December 13, 2008, to mark the 60. anniversary of declaration of Human Rights. Mumias case and the slogan FREE MUMIA were the special demands of the march. Other items were the brutal police murder of a protester in Greece, the police murder of the refugee Oury Jalloh in Dessau, Germany in 2005 (both cops got acquitted last week and will go free...). At the end police started attacking the march, as they approached the US-Consulate in Hamburg. The demonstration managed to stand their ground, although in a distance of 50 meters from the US-consulate.

Submitted by jonpeppers (not verified) on Sat, 12/20/2008 - 7:08pmI assume this was posted by the J4M crowd as to Mumia. I wonder if the "Free Mumia" crowd in Germany REALLY know the TRUTH and Facts as to this convicted and affirmed murderer. Do they know this case has been reviewed over the 27 years by many State and Federal Courts and NONE have ruled Mumia was Innocent of the cold blooded murder of another human being...NONE

we know the truth
Submitted by Kurt Sonntag (not verified) on Sun, 12/21/2008 - 5:44pmDear Jon Pisano,
let me assure you, we know the truth.
Although I believe your question isn't serious.
We know about racism, brutal cops, supremist idiology, corrupt courts and the likes.
In the USA racism and political oppression is rife, as many examples of the unsolved problems of the former slave owning society show us.
From understanding our own histoty with the barbaric Nazi-system including systematic genocide + brutal political oppression we have a clear vision on what the establishment is capable of.
And we know about Mumia Abu-Jamal. He was framed and for the last 13 years everyone involved is scared it might come out. The FOP, Governor Ed Rendell, DA Lynn Abraham... to name just a few.
That is the only reason Mumia didn't get a new trial yet.
Your assessment, that for 27 years Mumia's case was checked by courts, is wrong.
Only a few courts looked at his case so far:
1. the same hanging judge A. Sabo, who send him to death row in the first place,
2. the PASC, who bend every rule existing to deny Mumia his constitutional rights, always hiding behind technicalities...
3. Federal Judge Yohn, who recognized some of the "unregularituies" in the original case and therefor put the death penalty on hold,
4. the 3rd Circuit Court of appeals, who went as far as to invent new legislation by demanding percentage make-ups of the complete jury pool (this is outragious and unprecedented)
and finally the U.S. court, which decision is expected in February 2009.
No U.S. court has ever debated the false and fabricated "evidence" presented by DA McGill in 1982 or the twisting of court procedures, which lead to Mumias conviction. Nor the fact, that a confessing racist was acting as trial judge and always made sure, that the jury would only hear what the DA wanted them to.
They have been all to afraid to discuss the real content of this so called "trial".
Have you ever heard of the human rights organization Amnesty International? In 2000 the wrote a 32 paper strong assessment on the case of Mumia Abu-Jamal. Their conclusion:
"This case was in violation of the international minumum standard of a fair trial..." USA: A Life in the Balance - The case of Mumia Abu-Jamal (AI Index: AMR 51/001/2000)
http://www.amnesty.org/en/library/asset/AMR51/001/2000/en/dom-AMR5100120...
The only way to silence our anger would be to release him.
If a new court case is the road ahead for that so be it.
Mr. Pisano, you probably won't listen but your stance is in vain. History and most likely the international public will tell you.
Yours truly,
Kurt Sonntag

Well,

Submitted by jon peppers (not verified) on Sun, 12/21/2008 - 8:02pmThank you for your response. First, the reason Mumia has not succeeded in the Courts, and there have been MANY, is his case is not defence factual. There was NO coercion or intimidation and Judge Sabo has not sentenced more to death row than any other Judge. You have to remember it is the JURY in Capitol cases as this who decide the verdict and the Judge only passes on their decision. As to the "evidence" that has been reviewed by over 12 State and FEDERAL courts... NONE have found ANY wrongdoing or "fabrication" as you state. There is NO reason for a "new trial" due to the FACT the reviewing courts have found Mumia DID in FACT receive a Fair trial and AFFIRMED his guilt and that is murdering another human being. As to AI they/ YOU have to understand this is U.S. Law not "international Law". As to Jury selection, each side, defence and prosecution must select jurors and each may challenge each juror as to their fairness and their thoughts as to a possible death penalty conviction . BOTH have the same amount of challenges to strike potential jurors as did Mumia AND the prosecution. To answer your most pointed post as to the statement DA Abraham /Randell and the FOP were scared the truth might come out...well it has..GUILTY of murder and affirmed by those learned in the Law and not Journalistic speculation and FALSE information

Submitted by jon peppers (not verified) on Sun, 12/21/2008 - 8:56pmAddendum to my post, I have also responded to posting on the Journalists for Mumia site but when I question or ask for FACTUAL rebuttal or ANY post that goes against their misinformation or challenge their "facts" my posts are deleted. What does that tell you as to "control" of media as some state, is done in Phila. where the press(more than one) have printed the FACTS of this case and will not align themselves with the false and proven fabrication of events of the cold blooded execution of Officer Daniel Faulkner. Logic, PROVEN AFFIRMED FACTS...not "what ifs" as some believe should take precedence over truth
