For Immediate Release
13th Friday 2009, Ni'lin Village: An American citizen has been
critically injured in the village of Ni'lin after Israeli forces shot
him in the head with a tear-gas canister.
Tristan Anderson from California USA, 37 years old, is currently being
taken to Israeli hospital Tel Hashomer, near Tel Aviv. Anderson is
unconscious and has been bleeding heavily from the nose and mouth. He
sustained a large hole in his forehead where he was struck by the
canister.
"The Israeli soldiers were standing on the hill looking over us firing
tear-gas canisters straight into the crowd. Tristan was hit and fell
to the ground. He had a large hole in the front of his head and his
brain was visible. I tried to stop the bleeding, but he was bleeding
heavily from the head, nose and mouth." Ulrika Jenson (Sweden) -
International Solidarity Movement
"Tristan was shot by the new tear-gas canisters that can be shot up to
500m. I ran over as I saw someone had been shot, while the Israeli
forces continued to fire tear-gas at us. When an ambulance came, the
Israeli soldiers refused to allow the ambulance through the checkpoint
just outside the village. After 5 minutes of arguing with the
soldiers, the ambulance passed." Teah Lunqvist (Sweden) -

Other sources are now reporting the following related details:
Ulrika Jenson, an International Solidarity Movement activist, said troops fired tear gas canisters into the crowd from a hill above.
"Tristan was hit and fell to the ground," Jenson was quoted as saying in an ISM statement. "He had a large hole in the front of his head, and his brain was visible."
Why the protests?
"Ni'lin was 57,000 dunums in 1948, reduced to 33,000 dunums in 1967, currently the town’s land is 10,000 dunums and will be 7,500 dunums after the construction of the Wall."
"Ahmed Mousa (10) was shot in the forehead with live ammunition on 29th July 2008. The following day, Yousef Amira (17) was shot twice with rubber-coated steel bullets, leaving him brain dead. He died a week later on 4 August 2008. Arafat Rateb Khawaje (22), was the third Ni’lin resident to be killed by Israeli forces. He was shot in the back with live ammunition on 28 December 2008. That same day, Mohammed Khawaje (20), was shot in the head with live ammunition, leaving him brain dead. He died three days in a Ramallah hospital."

Supporting Terrorists Is Bad For Your Health
Submitted by Yishai Kohen (not verified) on Sat, 03/14/2009 - 3:19pmHe had no business here. He willingly chose to support terrorists. He pays the price.
Let that be a lesson to others: You WILL get hurt if you support terrorists here in OUR land.

Submitted by Rich Gardner on Sat, 03/14/2009 - 7:37pm"Anderson was standing far away from the wall, after the earlier protest, and not near anyone who might have been considered 'threatening.'"
"There were clashes in the earlier hours, but he wasn't part of them. He didn't throw stones and wasn’t standing next to the stone throwers."
Got some bloodthirsty commenters here today. People who seem to think they're being virtuous by screaming "Blood! Kill! Death!"

Rich you were standing there watching this fool every minute. Didn't think so Rich. Anderson went looking for trouble and found it. I refuse to shed a tier for someone who supports terrorist.
Yeah, he was pure as the driven snow.
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Sun, 03/15/2009 - 2:41pmThe ISM says that he was injured during a "nonviolent" demonstration (one held every Friday after the ISM incites the local Arabs to throw stones when leaving the mosques on Friday. No sympathies for this prick. The ISM lied about Rachel Corrie protecting a house when she was interfering with closing weapons tunnels, so the true story here also comes out. Jonathon Pollack is a known liar for the radical communist left in Israel. The best thing would be to see more of these incidents until the ISM stays home. Their days are numbered anyway with Netanyahu coming to power. By the way, if you're against blood, then why do you support Hamas and other Jew killers?
The last time this site
Submitted by Rich Gardner on Sun, 03/15/2009 - 3:22pmhad anything significant to say about Palestine/Hamas, it was during the late December, early January war between Israel and the residents of the Gaza Strip. Hamas was of course part of that population, but Gaza is such a densely populated area, even had Israel desired to do battle just with Hamas, it really wasn't possible. So we never considered it a war just between Israel and Hamas.
We understood that Israel was reacting to the constant launching of small rockets from the strip. The damage done to Gaza was that 5,000 homes, 16 government buildings, and 20 mosques were destroyed. 25,000 homes were damaged. There was then and remains now an extremely tight blockade around Gaza, making it difficult for residents to obtain adequate food and medical supplies.
The struggle is simply not a straightforward, black and white, good guys vs bad guys kind of struggle. Neither Israel nor Hamas come across as unsullied heroes.
Dhimmi nonsense
Submitted by Buttercup (not verified) on Sat, 03/14/2009 - 7:41pmI read this story an hour ago and can't stop laughing. What a hoot. OK, maybe it wasn't as funny as some silly cow foolish enough to sit in front of a moving bulldozer but you got to respect his effort to bring laughter and joy into the world. Here's to more good times! I'm donating another pizza party to the IDF in Tristan's name.
A True American Hero
Submitted by Another American Patriot (not verified) on Sat, 03/14/2009 - 8:50pmTristian is a true American hero whom I hope and pray God blesses with a full recovery. He was helping others to engage in our long-established, democratic principal of peaceful protest.
I hope the IDF terrorist who commited this attrocity is fully prosecuted for his intentional act of terrorisim. I use my words advisedly as the attack on Tristian was purposely committed to instil fear, (i.e., terror), in other future peaceful protesters and protests which help to write these wrongs.
The above hateful comments about Tristian are clearly by Israel applogists in whose eyes Israel can do no wrong.
Luckily for all of us, the political tide is beginning to flow against them.
It's not going to satisfy anyone, but...
Submitted by Pedestrian (not verified) on Sat, 03/14/2009 - 9:10pmEven deliberate aim at a human target from distances of even 100 yards away isn't likely to score a direct hit from an 40mm grenade launcher firing CS rounds. They're fairly accurate, but the slow muzzle velocity and the fact that the tear gas projectile is shedding weight by emitting a stream of CS gas during flight generally prevents the firer from scoring a deliberate direct hit on a human target, particularly a headshot. It's as unlikely as driving a golf ball with a 5-Wood and hitting someone 100 yards away on the first try.
Any 37mm/40mm tear gas projectile can cause lethal results if the target is hit in the head, that I don't dispute. What is almost assured here is that the soldier fired the weapon and Tristan's path crossed in front of it a moment later.
Best wishes and regards to the family of this man.
The man was 38 years old
Submitted by Buttercup (not verified) on Sun, 03/15/2009 - 4:57amAt the age of 38 you would think there would be some degree of maturity instead of ignorantly prancing around a fight like some drunken college freshman. Even Saint Pancake of the Bulldozer had the excuse of youth.
Ironically the far Left has a great deal in common with the Neo-Nazi movement. Both groups hate Israel and deny the tiny nation's right to peace and security.
One problem with that, scumbag...
Submitted by Kaba (not verified) on Sun, 03/15/2009 - 8:08pm...much of the far Left is Jewish, while the Jewish right have been working with fascists like Geert Wilders and Brigitte Gabriel who literally say they want to do to Muslims what was done to Jews in the Holocaust. Don't play this game. We can go tit for tat.
Fellow's wounding
Submitted by larry (not verified) on Sun, 03/15/2009 - 5:56amIf I understand correctly, this fellow was formerly a tree sitter. If his wounded brain does not fully recover, he should be better qualified than previously for the arboreal function. This could be a win-win for the 38 year old retiree and for the odd tree.
I am very fond of timber and wish him well.

Tristan, this one's for you for all the Jewish children murdered
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Sun, 03/15/2009 - 2:45pmTristan, this one is for you for all the Jewish children murdered by your terrorist buddies who you were a human shield for. Tristan Anderson
Submitted by Marsha Bates (not verified) on Mon, 03/16/2009 - 6:23amHalf of you sound like Sociopaths without any conscience at all. I am ashamed of you. Probably, you consider yourselves to be very "patriotic" Americans, but obviously you will gladly put a foreign country (Israel) over your own. Tristan Anderson is an American citizen tragically wounded in a foreign country by foreign forces. Obviously, your loyalties go to a foreign country (Israel) more than to your own (America); you spew much hate, but you have no understanding of the conflict or of history. Your language is that of heartless psychopaths and there is no reasoning with most of you. Get a heart ...
Sorry Marsha
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Mon, 03/16/2009 - 8:08amTristan is an American citizen who should have stayed at home and he wouldn't have been wounded by the IDF. By the way you idiot, Tristan was the foreign force in a place he shouldn't have been. No sympathy for him at all.
Yeah, we should all just stay home
Submitted by Rich Gardner on Mon, 03/16/2009 - 11:50amand never involve ourselves in foreign problems at all. The Abraham Lincoln Brigade that fought fascists during the Spanish Civil War should have known better and stayed home.
response to "sorry marsha"
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Mon, 03/16/2009 - 9:27pmYEAH, A FOREIGNER THAT SHOULD HAVE NEVER LEFT? Do you support American troops? Because the same logic can be applied to them.
Bloodthirstiness
Submitted by Rich Gardner on Tue, 03/17/2009 - 1:27pmSeems to be a general problem on that side of the politcal aisle. Governor Sanford of South Carolina seems to have no problem condemning the citizens of South Carolina
by rejecting $700 million in stimulus funds. That means the state would have to send 4700 employees home. Also, yeah, we lefties are ticked off at AIG and want to see the executives suffer financially. Their pay should be at least frozen, preferably cut by 10% to 20% for their lousy performance, but Charles Krauthammer and Mort Kondrake are suggesting more extreme methods:
KRAUTHAMMER: I’m all in favor of keeping this heaping opprobrium. I would deny them the bonuses if possible. I would be for an exemplary hanging or two. Have it in Times Square, invite Madame DuFarge. You borrow a guillotine from the French and we could have a party.
KONDRACKE: I was going to recommend boiling in oil in Times Square...
As the blog author says: "conservatives seem unable to see problems as anything other than a nail for which the only solution is a hammer."
