This FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 14th at 3:00PM, we will FLUNK THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION for their inaction on the student debt crisis.
On Nov.14th high school and college students around the country will protest the Department of Education's pathetic policies. We demand that STUDENTS be allowed to participate in the decisions that affect us!
We're going to the Philadelphia office of the Department of Education to give them a huge report card, flunking them for failing to meet our needs and make quality education accessible to everyone. We're delivering hundreds of "Bail Me Out" cards, telling the Department what we need to pay off our loans and improve the quality of our schools. We'll also have a megaphone for students to tell their stories and make our voices heard.
[F-] We are in an economic crisis. Student debt has DOUBLED over the last decade! College is increasingly unaffordable.
[F--] Philadelphia's public school system is not meeting students' needs. HALF of all students drop out before graduating! Schools in low-income communities are underfunded and neglected.
[F---] The government recently bailed out Sallie Mae, the largest student loan company in the country, yet continues to ignore students.
[A+] Let's create real CHANGE by building STUDENT POWER!
