As National Director for Operations for Gathering of Eagles, I can say that no one from our organization has ever had talks with Karen or anyone from her group. We were invited to participate this weekend in honor of the Army's 233rd birthday.

The "kids" comment relates to the party afterwards. As for the other comments taken out of context I would simply ask, "How many members of GOE have ever been detained, arrested or otherwise engaged by law enforcement?" The answer is zero, nation wide. Can Karen's "movement" say likewise?

We fully intend to stand with Rich Davis in a support role only. While we fully believe that Karen's efforts are hurtful to the cause of fighting terrorism, we who have worn the uniform understand that their speech is protected by those whom they disparage. We are showing up to wave the Flag, honor the Army's 233rd and let the men and women who are winning two wars know that they have public support.
